Recent studies show that adding more RAM to your PC can actually
lead to an increased life of your solid-state drive, and with RAM prices plummeting,
now is a great time to consider upgrading.
A series of three tests on
a 4GB system and a 16GB system conducted by Tom’s Hardware revealed up to a 63%
reduction of writes to the SSD. Each time you write to your solid-state
drive, you reduce its lifespan, so anything you can do to decrease the writes
to your drive will extend its overall usability. You can never have too
much RAM, so consider this small hardware upgrade as a great investment to
extend the life of your SSD.
